AUD3.90AUD5.00

This pamphlet presents a Marxist analysis of the reply by Jake Silverstein, editor of the New York Times Magazine, to five prominent historians who requested that the Times correct historical falsifications upon which the Times’ 1619 Project is based. It also includes Tom Mackaman’s response to The American Historical Review.

On December 20, 2019, the New York Times published a reply by the editor of the Sunday Magazine section to a letter from five prominent historians requesting that the Times correct the historical falsifications upon which the 1619 Project, launched in August, is based. Four of these historians had been interviewed first by the World Socialist Web Site, the only news publication to present a platform for informed discussion in opposition to the racialist narrative being promoted by the New York Times.
This pamphlet reproduces the letter from the historians and presents a Marxist analysis of the reply by Jake Silverstein, editor of the New York Times Magazine. Additional material included here is Tom Mackaman’s response to The American Historical Review‘s defense of the New York Times‘ 1619 Project.
